What makes both the band and their self-titled album so enjoyable and interesting is the unity yet uniqueness displayed in each of the members, and each of the cd's tracks. As a whole, the band and the album sound fresh and soothing, yet looked at individually, each takes on its own noteworthy feel.

Take for example Danny Kline's vocals and lyrical work (he wrote all but one song on the disc). The voice is easy and David Gates-like, flowing over each word and fitting the music perfectly. It also sounds like he's holding back, but still, it fits. The lyrics are highly visual and subtly brilliant, tricking you up and constantly making you smile or reflect.

Alex Anest's guitar picking is sharp and clean; very expressive, but never overwhelming. It fades back to become the perfect accompaniment, only taking your notice when neccessary. John Sperendi's bass is simply amazing, displaying the kind of melodic expressiveness Paul McCartney did in "Something". The rhythm guitar is subtle and occassionally sounds like Jewel, a great backdrop for the rest. These styles all merge together perfectly, supporting each other and only standing out when you look for it.

Each song deals with similar feelings and thoughts, but always in some new light. From the almost epic feeling "Truth Is A Whisper", the Pink Floyd-ish bonus track, the charming and simple Paul (my personal favorite on the album), the Elvis sounding "Rollin' On", and the easy, almost Springsteen-ish "Stone Quarry", each track is different enough to add interest and variety, without taking away from the album's consistent feel. The real unusual one here is the only song not written by Kline, "Smoke #20" provided by Anest. With its brass band and fast pace, it takes on a completely different sound while still managing to fit in.

This album is definitely very highly recommended, especially if you enjoy Phish's "Farmhouse". You'll find the same instant relaxation here.
